Gelcoat cracking question.

Hey Guys,

I'm looking at buying a 2005 Skeeter Bass Boat. The boat had been hit in the side and repaired. The area which had new gelcoat applied has started cracking. Is there a way to tell if this is simply due to the gel being too thick or if the glass was improperly laid? Attached are some pictures.

Its an improper repair ( Lots of filler for fairing ) or its been hit again.

The only way to know is to grind/explore into the cracks.

No matter what whoever is gonna have to grind off all the gel back to glass and put a few layers of glass in that area..then prep and gel/clear.
