Got me a pretty nice one and used it for the first time yesterday. Worked really well and hardly spilled a drop. Should I try to clean it out now or is it OK to let sit with lube in it? Only easy way can think of cleaning it would be to try to pump some kerosene through it, but it still wouldn't be clean.

I store mine out of the bottle in a large zip lock bag......... it's plastic with a single spring.......... keeping it in a zip lock cuts back on the smell and collected dust

Large zip lock baggie for me. It`s messy but always works when I take it out.

I just leave it in the top of a gear lube bottle.
I keep this and a couple other lubes /grease gun in a 5 gal bucket with some paper towel in the bottom

Me too. I zip tie the outlet to the top of the pump so it doesn't dribble out.

I take mine out of the bottle, hold it over my waste oil container, actuate the pump to get most of the residual gear oil out and then put it in a big zip lock bag that has a couple blue shop paper towels on the bottom to soak up any extra gear oil.

Hate to admit it, but my pump came in a pretty nice little ziploc bag. Didn't think much about it at the time, but it'll work fine for storage I reckon. I like the shop towels idea though. Think I'll do that too.
