Hi Guys,
Just wanted to say hello to everyone, am new to this group and a complete novice to anything nautical so please be gentle!
I have been given a 5.25M fibreglass runabout from a family member, its been sat out the front of his house for about 2.5 years and he decided to get a new boat.
Anyway actually climbed in it today and noticed the following and was wondering whether its even worth trying to sort it out or to give it up as a bad job....
1. Floor is 'squishy' am assuming the floor has completely rotted, also one of the seat pillars has a hole in it and all the wood around it has rotted.
2. The pointy bit at the front (nautical or what) has two big 'dents' in it where it has slipped on the trailer and worn through (you can see the fibreglass).
3. Ooo..yeah the shelf that the battery tray used to sit on has partly rotted.
4. Not even looked at the engine.....
So you reckon its a goer? I know its difficult to guage without seeing it. Am prepared to get my hands dirty and learn as I go.
Cheers
