1983 BAYLINER 22 FT. CRUISER WTH TRAILER - $500 (FYFFE, AL.)

1983 Bayliner 22 ft. cruiser, this boat is in need of a lot of TLC, the motor is presently stored inside garage, the interior has been gutted, the Float On trailer needs two wheel bearings before it can be moved. Would make a great project boat. (ya think?) The motor and outdrive are in excellent condition (but...in the garage). The cushions for the inside cabin are in reasonable condition (YIPPEEEE!).

Sounds like a good candidate for an "artificial reef" to me.

Did Mercruiser ever use a 3.8? Or is he trying to pass off an OMC.

Yes they did for like 2 years. I only know this because my boat just happens to have the rare mercruiser 3.8L. I think it replaced the straight 6 (MCM 165?). As soon as GM came out with the 4.3 the 3.8 was replaced.

P.S. The 3.8 is a good engine. It's basically the same design as the 4.3, so parts are not an issue even though it is quite rare. It's not like the 470 that was a different design.

Every single time without failure I order parts for my 3.8 the parts guy tries to give me parts for the 4.3. Even people in the industry are not used to seeing these.

Interesting info scipper. I had no idea.

I would also like to commend Josh on his last post for truly capturing the "TLC" spirit of this thread. That ebay link is classic :D:D:D

Well I had to verify and checked my MCM reference list that I picked up somewhere (PM if you want it). It was called the MCM 185R and was produced in '83 and '84 . . . in '85 it went to 4.3 but it was still a MCM 185MR, and then they added a 205 in '86 as well. Cool

 Do you think that speed is GPS or wishometer?

Definately a real speed. My 17' open bow with the exact same power package tops out at 47 mph (calm water, no wind, 1/2 tank, etc...). With the size of that boat and the hull design it probably should be able to break 50.

Still doesnt make me forget he spelled it "Baha"...wasnt that one of Curly's alter egos on the three stooges?

You could fill this thread with those ebay listings for donated boats...boat angel, boats for vets, etc...they all get some real winners.

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

I?ve found so many fraudulent cases on Craig?s. I had a beauty located in Vegas. Problem is, I?m in Canada. Thought what the hay, made contact with the guy who stated he was selling as he was going back to war. Poor guy, right he didn?t want to see it go for not sitting.

When I asked where is the boat, he thought he would miss-place it in Seattle. Well that?s nice, as Seattle is only hours from home and would work into a nice weekend drive. When I told him I was only hours away and asked who to contact there in Seattle to view it, he disappeared!!

Please be careful. As a re-tired Cop I have seen it all and half the price of your dreamboat is a lot of cash!!!!

I have also used Craig?s to locate a scout. I was one day off on getting a $20 K saving from the same year make and model of boat I could have bought here although would have had to tug it home from Ohio.

Ohio has some great boats out there, but again watch the fraud artists. I had another when I told him I wished to use my lawyer and put down payment into escrow he didn?t want to slow the deal. Really, well sorry no deal then!!!

First post for me but I thought I would bust the ice with this.

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/bnc/boa/2273712543.html

glass bottom boat!!! - $300 (new west)

yes it has a plexi glass bottom window. plexi is 1inch thick. foam and fiberglass insulation. 10 feet long fiberglass boat. has small leak, Used it on water for an hour and used a pale once. GREAT for lakes. The clearer the water the better to see. See what fish are underneath. no motor...
