Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.
"It needs some
TLC to get it running but it does run."
It has no floor, but it's "in good shape".
The boat is a 1989. The moter is
1986 and is NOT in the boat!
Remember, though, it is in good shape. Most vehicles that are in good shape have floors and engines in them. I'm just sayin'.

We are selling our 19' open bow Regal boat. It is in good shape but needs to be finished. We have the motor but it is not installed. When we purchased the boat it didnt have a motor so we purchased the motor seperately, and my husband's job has prevented him from putting it all together. If you would like the boat but arent sure how to install the motor I could probably get my uncle to do it for a small fee.
This would make a great family boat. We originally bought it to get running and to take our kids tubbing and to hang out on the water. But time is hard to come by these days with my husbands schedule; working overnights and sleeping during the day. There is great potential with this boat if you have the time to assemble it.
The floor isn't finished, he was in the process of placing 1/2 in plywood (direct replacementof what was in it) when his hours got changed and he became unable to complete the job. The motor is not in the boat and is a 3.7 L Inline 4 cylinder - Mercruiser 165 (about the same hp as a small car such as a base model neon or kia spectra). It may take some TLC on the engine (new plugs, fluid changes, etc) to get running but it DOES run. Though it is not in the boat, we have it covered and protected form rain. Furthermore, the motor is not the original from the boat. The boast is a 1989 and the motor is a 1986. We got it out of another boat from which my husband was going to replace the missing 4.3L Mercruiser. The Outdrive (matching the 3.7 to ensure the correct gearing), trim cylinders, tilt (part in the stern) and the prop all come with the cost of the boat. These alone are worth MORE than the money for everything you get. With it not being the original engine, My husband needed to fabricate a new motor mount, We have the mount, just have not had the time to secure it (Fiberglassing it would be the fastest way). There is literally every component that you will need in the deal, all you need to do is assemble and finish the floor and motor mount.
As far as the trailer, it is in great shape. It has brand new lights and electrical connection as well as hydraulic brakes that work on inertia What this means for those of you who do not understand this (like me). When you hit the brakes, the trailer leans forward (naturally, just like a car stopping at a red light) and the weight is shifted to the front (tounge) of the trailer. When his occours, the hitch presses into the pump and pushes brake fluid to the brakes. This makes it easier and faster to bring the trailer and vehicle to a stop. The Axle is in good shape and it IS the original trailer (and they match). My husband just put on a new wheel jack (the thing in the front that it sits on when not connected to a vehicle) and brand new lights.
Along with the boat, motor and trailer, you will be getting at least 5 life vests, an anchor, fire extinguisher, stern lights (2), seats, depth finder, bilge pump, extra steering wheel and dash assembly, extra hydraulic pump (for the trim cylinders) and anything else I can find to get rid of all for the asking $900.
I am not able to send pictures at this time, however, if you are interested in pictures, please email me and I will reply as fast as possible with pictures.
We are asking $900 but it IS negotiable...(just a hint....my husband just said that he would take $750, but i wasn't supposed to tell you)
If you are going to email please list 19' Regal $900 in the subject line so that I know it's not spam.
Hope to hear from you soon......this boat wont last long (I hope!)
Thanks in advance,
Vivian
