3/2 MAN BASS BOAT 10' - $600 (MOORE)

I have a 1995 3 man bass boat 10 foot long .It says on the plate mounted in the boat that u can have 3 people in it but it only has 2 seats . It is in pretty good condition considering it age . It has a trailer under it . The trailer tires are both fairly new. I got them at the begining of this summer and went to the lake twice . It also comes with a spare tire . The previous owner didnt treat the boat the best . It had 2 leaks on the back bottom corners . I took some plastic and molded to the back corners , then i bought some of the truck bed liner u can buy at lowes and coated the 2 back corners . The previous owner instead of fixing the 2 holes put a bildge pump in the bottom of the boat so it would pump the water out of the boat , it is still in their and it still works . But i know for sure it dont leak cause i tested it . It has 2 brand knew live wells i put in it . Has a 30lb thurst minnkota trolling motor it works . I am getting rid of it because i want some new things for my truck and my dad got a bigger bass boat .I have the title .I am asking 600.00 OBO NO TRADES . If u are intrested u can call 405-xxx-xxxx , i have school during the day so if i dont anwser PLEASE LEAVE ME A MESSAGE . I will call u back when i get a chance , thanks for looking at my posting .

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

This guy needs a lesson in writing ads. No salesmanship whatsoever.

Sad thing is if the boat is as good as the pics look (probably not) it might actually be worth a few bucks. Not what he's asking in my estimation, but maybe 5-6K.

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

When I bought my boat a couple months ago I went and looked at a bunch on CL.

The funniest one was a boat I drove 2 hours to go look at. It said "very little TLC needed. $$$$$$$ in this boat"

The guy told me to call him when I got close and he would guide me to where he was. So I call him when I get off the exit and he tells me he is out on the boat and to go to this park which has a ramp and dock.

I get there and the guy is tied to the dock. I walk over and I can smell the liquor on him from about 2000 ft away. First thing he says after shaking my hand is that he is really drunk and doesnt feel too good. He says his friend is on the boat I can go look at it but hes gonna go sit down in his truck because he feels sick.

I already figured that this was gonna be a watse of time but I figured I might as well look at the boat.

I go to the dock and he has 3 other very drunk people on the boat. They can barely talk staraight let alone walk. The first thing one of the guys said was "Bro look at this built in cooler. you can hide all your booze in here and the coast guard wont even know its there." He opens the cooler and they have about 5 full size liquor bottles in there. Then the other guy sitting in the passenger seat goes to stand up and puts his hand right on the plastic cover in front of him and breaks it to pieces.

I'm trying so hard not to laugh at these guys. They owner comes back from the truck and just keeps saying he doesn't fell good. I said yea I dont drink liquor when it 100 degrees out.

So he tells me how he has all these receipts and just had the engine rebuilt and the drive serviced. He shows me how there is a 4ft by 4ft section of the side of the hull that has no paint on it because he hit the dock really hard and put a huge gash in it and had to have it repaired.

I'm thinking this could not be more funny. Almost worth my 2 hours drive to see these idiots.

Then the guy goes and starts throwing up in the bushes. I just left while he was throwing up and didn't say anything else to them.

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

"It needs some TLC to get it running but it does run."

It has no floor, but it's "in good shape". :)

The boat is a 1989. The moter is 1986 and is NOT in the boat!

Remember, though, it is in good shape. Most vehicles that are in good shape have floors and engines in them. I'm just sayin'. :p

19' Regal Open Bow Boat w/Trailer - $750 (Elkton MD)

Reply to: sale-zv2kv-1918886789@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

We are selling our 19' open bow Regal boat. It is in good shape but needs to be finished. We have the motor but it is not installed. When we purchased the boat it didnt have a motor so we purchased the motor seperately, and my husband's job has prevented him from putting it all together. If you would like the boat but arent sure how to install the motor I could probably get my uncle to do it for a small fee.

This would make a great family boat. We originally bought it to get running and to take our kids tubbing and to hang out on the water. But time is hard to come by these days with my husbands schedule; working overnights and sleeping during the day. There is great potential with this boat if you have the time to assemble it.

The floor isn't finished, he was in the process of placing 1/2 in plywood (direct replacementof what was in it) when his hours got changed and he became unable to complete the job. The motor is not in the boat and is a 3.7 L Inline 4 cylinder - Mercruiser 165 (about the same hp as a small car such as a base model neon or kia spectra). It may take some TLC on the engine (new plugs, fluid changes, etc) to get running but it DOES run. Though it is not in the boat, we have it covered and protected form rain. Furthermore, the motor is not the original from the boat. The boast is a 1989 and the motor is a 1986. We got it out of another boat from which my husband was going to replace the missing 4.3L Mercruiser. The Outdrive (matching the 3.7 to ensure the correct gearing), trim cylinders, tilt (part in the stern) and the prop all come with the cost of the boat. These alone are worth MORE than the money for everything you get. With it not being the original engine, My husband needed to fabricate a new motor mount, We have the mount, just have not had the time to secure it (Fiberglassing it would be the fastest way). There is literally every component that you will need in the deal, all you need to do is assemble and finish the floor and motor mount.

As far as the trailer, it is in great shape. It has brand new lights and electrical connection as well as hydraulic brakes that work on inertia What this means for those of you who do not understand this (like me). When you hit the brakes, the trailer leans forward (naturally, just like a car stopping at a red light) and the weight is shifted to the front (tounge) of the trailer. When his occours, the hitch presses into the pump and pushes brake fluid to the brakes. This makes it easier and faster to bring the trailer and vehicle to a stop. The Axle is in good shape and it IS the original trailer (and they match). My husband just put on a new wheel jack (the thing in the front that it sits on when not connected to a vehicle) and brand new lights.

Along with the boat, motor and trailer, you will be getting at least 5 life vests, an anchor, fire extinguisher, stern lights (2), seats, depth finder, bilge pump, extra steering wheel and dash assembly, extra hydraulic pump (for the trim cylinders) and anything else I can find to get rid of all for the asking $900.

I am not able to send pictures at this time, however, if you are interested in pictures, please email me and I will reply as fast as possible with pictures.

We are asking $900 but it IS negotiable...(just a hint....my husband just said that he would take $750, but i wasn't supposed to tell you)

If you are going to email please list 19' Regal $900 in the subject line so that I know it's not spam.

Hope to hear from you soon......this boat wont last long (I hope!)

Thanks in advance,

Vivian

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

Found one on CL last spring I went to look at for something to do to kill an afternoon. The ad said it had a small hole in the side of the hull, claimed to be damage from hitting a dock too fast. The pic looked like that was what happened. Other pics of the boat were from a distance. Looked good from 50 feet away.
Ad also said the engine, a V-8 was seized up but ran last fall. Said the interior was out, needed new carpet but "he had the seats". Claimed the seats could be put back in the boat.
OK, went to look at it for fun. The hole in the hull that he claimed to be an easy fix turned out to be more. The stringers had rotted, and the cap had come loose. They hit a big wake and the boat buckled right in front of the windshield. The hull had a crack running down each side almost to the keel I could stick my hand through. But he said it wasn't all the way to the other side, so some fiberglass patch would tie it all back together just fine.
The engine was indeed seized up. All 8 spark plugs were laying on the deck of the boat, all rusted up. The engine was uncovered, plugs out, no air ceaner on the carb. He said he just took the plugs out and filled the cylinders with oil to break the engine loose. The rust on the plug threads was evidence that it had been months maybe years since the plugs were removed.
I asked about the wiring, it was all pulled out and in a jumbled mess on the ground. It looked like it had been mowed over a couple of times.
I asked about the seats that could go back in, he pointed to a pile of scrap lumber, shingles, plaster and other junk. The seats were laying on top of the pile. Wood completely rotted out, foam laying on the pile, vinyl was ripped up. So, no seats. The OMC drive was off, he claimed it was in the garage. He did have receipts where the drive had been rebuilt 3 years before, right before they broke the boat in half. With new tires, new lights, new rollers and a coat of paint the trailer would have been a nice find.
All that for the bargain price of $750.
I thanked him for his time and kindly went on my way.
