Okay, so no TLC needed on this one. It is brand new, ready to go, and easy to see if there is any water "on board." nyuk, nyuk. Not trying to make fun of the kids, though- looks like they had fun! (just never seen anything like that)

7ft x 4ft boat, kids summer project, floats great $65 or best offer see pictures.

That looks like a knock hockey table!!

The thing that gets me is most people either do not proof their ads or the just don't care.

Sounds to me like it needs a complete restoration and some motor work?

Boat was purchased about 2 years ago everything was working fine. Last time boat was used was last summer and it was working good! The boat has been sitting all winter out back with no cover. As a result of the boat, sitting with no care it has wear and tear damage to the flooring and some of the seats. Also to my knowledge the trim and tilt does not work, witch is the peace that lifts up the engine once your out the water this damage does not prevent the boat from usage.

Boat is SOLD as is. If you'd like you may come see for self and check it out, am not a boat technician so any internal damage the boat may have i have no knowledge of as i said it was running fine last time it was out in the water haven't done nothing to it since.

willing to trade for a cruiser motorcycle

This one isn't quite as bad as some of the others here but I thought that $400 for a basically a bare hull was a bit high, no motor, no seats, no trailer for a 45 year old hull?

14' MFG fiberglass boat - $400 (Vineland, 08360)

For Sale, 1963 MFG Niagara V hull fiberglass boat. $400 firm.
Title in hand, boat was last used in 2008. It's rated at 50hp max but I'd suppose a 25 hp or so would move it along quite nicely.
The boat is light, uses a long shaft motor and best of all, being an early MFG hull, there's no wood decks or stringers to worry about.
The hull on this is in great shape, no patches, no paint, all original. It was bottom painted when I got it, but most of that has washed away now and it doesn't appear to have been sanded either. Boat had a new helm and steering cable in 2008 and was freshwater run after that. These are very unique hulls modeled after the vintage Lyman wood boats of the 50's. Good ones like this are few and far between. I had planned to use this myself but found a slightly larger MFG just after buying this one.
No motor, no trailer. (Trailer under boat now is borrowed).
I have an old trailer that I'll sell for $100 cash if you need something to get it home with.

This one don't look all that bad to me, I wonder if $250 or so would buy it? Even if it needs a trailer and some work, it still looks like a super clean vintage hull? I've looked at far worse for a lot more money. If I'm not mistaken, those also have all glass lower hulls and decks, no wood to rot.
The transom is probably wood but being a boat with a bolt in splashwell, that don't even sound all that bad to do.

Manually tilting up a 150hp 'rude doesn't sounds like fun to me:rolleyes:

Excellent grammar though!

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

People across the street moved out and left a 1970's 14' open bow, similar to the one I recently got dirt cheap and in about the same shape. Rotten stringers and deck, soft spongy transom. Has been sitting on the ground with no support for many many months sinking in the mud. I had considered picking it up since it was free and attempting to rescue it. Couldn't catch the owner when they were there, though.

Didn't matter because someone who didn't consult the owner (the house is now vacant) picked it up and put it on a trailer. I heard the hull scrape HARD against the metal as they were pulling it on because they weren't lifting the back. So much for THAT dream... and yet, 30 minutes later, the SAME boat is a block down the street with a for sale sign in the window, "needs TLC". Given the known history of it from just the last 6 months I'd have offered $50 to haul it away, I was just hoping to use the hull and rebuild everything else. Now it's in WORSE shape, and he's probably asking $300, but I haven't asked since I'm a little too pissed at how he's treated it.

Wow, that may be a 1st! A project that is priced right and doesn't really look like a POS. I would think that may be a good buy there.

Thats really why I showed it...Id love to think one o yous guys could steal it! I cant, if I drag home another boat, I'll be more worried about alimony....

Some people's definition of "minor" seem to differ from mine

As if damage like that was even fixable? I'm not sure you could even buy new railing stock like that to fix it. That type of damage in most cases isn't minor, it's more or less unrepairable unless you care to chance welding something on that looks similar, then hope you don't warp the whole hull. I've tried in the past to get that railing but have had no luck. Other than having another boat to cut it off of, it's pretty much scrap aluminum in my book.
