yessir. Headed out sometime between Friday thru Sunday. A buddy from my forum is having a rough time with mom in the hospital so cruised down to help where I could, mostly to hug him and watch the 14 year old girl who loves her some uncle joe....

Think I found a nice little 6 hp Rude for me. You need something down this way? I thought i posted a heads up in the SC thread.

Just wondering if he'd take less for the trailer-less and title-less Feathercraft?

Good on you for helping out. I bet he appreciates it immensely....

Antique chick magnet !
I think it is the boat being antique but it may be the "chicks" it attracts :D

Don't know much about this vintage boats but I have a I have doubts that it is worth $ 10k.
I am actually a little confused reading it - it may be the trailer alone that is worth $ 10k.

Wow ! I didn't realize I had a 10,000 dollar chick magnet !!! :bounce:
The Admiral has said that of all the ones in the fleet the Wagemaker was her favorite ...
She even volunteered to help with all the sanding !

Can't tell how long it it but if it can sit in the back of my truck there would be no one way trailer rental, which would be $150.

Actually I don't need a "chick magnet". I could use a "fish magnet" though.

It was 14ft, no matter, finally got around to giving the ad more attention, MIA,so he either pulled ad or sold it.

Thanks though.

Safe travels

"Restored this boat is worth $7,000." Ummm, not without a title, it isn't (or with a title, either).

Basically the poor owner is saying, "I was stupid enough to buy something without a title, so I never worked on it. But I will sell it to you without a title, so you can work on it!"

Ha! I was just telling Denise the same thing.........

By far this is my favorite thread on here. Thinking we should start a "Craigslist steals" for boat we got for dirt cheap. Spent months scouring Craigslist before buying mine for $400 because I knew what was wrong and the PO didn't. Put under $100 into it and I have a serviceable boat for a few years until I sell it for $1500+/-

A few of my fishing pals up here started collecting anything that once floated, including shrubbery growing out of the interiors. Going farm to farm, property to property offering to take away those old scows that have starting to become one with Mother Nature. Owners are more then happy to give them away, especially the wives, usually widows. I told them I didn't share in their vision 2 years ago but went along for the ride, no more Bars and Hotels and Casino's for me these days. They just sold a windshield from a late 60's era tri hull for $1000.00 CDN. I put a few adds for them on forums here in Ontario and the phone is ringing off the hook. A guy drove down from Toronto and bought a 70's era StarCraft steering wheel for 100 bucks complete with button, he was in tears he was so happy, he went through some shelves and bought another 200 bananas of wall hanger stuff. Those boats all came with trailers and they are built like Sherman Tanks under all that grunge. A pressure wash here and bunk here a roller there, a new jack post here 2 new tail lights at 20 a set and a gallon of paint and banggo you have a fast $500.00. He who laughs last laughs best. Free is a great deal. To get rid of the glass carcasses, Johnny Boy digs a hole along the tree line on the back 40 and buries them. It was supposed to keep us all busy over the long dark cold winter. Now they are too busy to go fishing????? We are all in our 60's. Who da thunk?

That's a crazy hair-brained idea! It's funny what you can make money on. When I worked at an airport the boss would travel hours for that one basket case of a project that was so rare you'd be put on the map for owning it.

It's really not a bad deal or funny ad. I am actually tempted by the idea a bit.... But it would end up being a money pit considering the motor size needed.

Well at least he's honest and says the boats not so nice and I have to agree with him.

Yeah, that's probably one of the best representations buy a seller I've seen on CL. The design has so many features I want in my next "boats" that it doesn't seem to fit any of them
