Brand new floors!!! "Little work" and it's water ready. Even includes a spare 115 Evinrude. (has a crack in the powerhead... you know... the bottom part)

A similar boat washed up on our beach 10 or so years back. I tied a rope to it and pulled it next door and tied it off to the neighbours tree. When Jim came on the weekend I said "you lucky guy a free boat Jim". He was actually exited about it. He floated to a neighbours ramp and onto his buddies trailer. I never did ask him where HIS boat ended up.

yup that would be bait for sure. I saw an ad for a 1968 Shelby mustang, They were selling for $5000 as it was an estate sale and it had a burn on the seat. These guys are waiting for greed to take over..... you get what you pay for...

I don't understand what the angle there would be Bob. Maybe they sell Am way products and this is the new way to get you to listen to their pitch? Or maybe they just want to roll someone for the 2500 in a parking lot somewhere.

I see those Ad's fairly often and have known they were scams but also wondered what the angle of attack is

I think they get a deposit to hold the boat while doing the "paper work". Its like renting an apartment to numerous people at the same time.

That could be it too. It would be nice to bring a cop along on one of those meets.

I think it is just to get legit verified Phone #'s and valid email addresses, to sell to advertising agents......I mean in the end, who is going to send money without seeing and touching an item??????????????

Not having experience with this but I think the idea is to make the deal so good that you will risk a small deposit to hold the vehicle while you get the time to see it, like after work or on the weekend when you can get your buddy to look with you. Like the Shelby mustang you the buyer think the seller does not know what they have and want to jump on the deal before someone else comes along. All the seller has is a picture and if you ask to look the seller will have a reason, cars in storage or the next state over so you cant actually see it or touch it.

I can only imagine what is under that tarp. I mean there is no telling what could be there or what it looks like. He can't be seriously trying to sell it like that. But in all honesty, look how many try to sell their boats (or cars) without any pictures. I see them everywhere. Like the buyer is suppose to know what they have for sell. :noidea:

I'll never buy a tarp with no trailer. Just too hard to launch for an old guy!
