Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

Is it just my imagination...or does it look like someone has actually been living in this boat?

I think that's all flotsam that collected under the boat & trailer when last the Ohio breached it's banks. :faint2:

People are dumb. 10-15min cleaning all that carp out from under it and it wouldn't look like a dump. So that most people shopping for a boat of that size would actually get out of the truck & look at the boat :watermelon:

Nothing we haven't seen before (excluding the obvious one of a kind custom sound system), but she looks worthy.

I think I have seen a few of these jobs in our restoration section before. All you need is material and a staple gun!

$300 boat and trailer 20' must be picked up tomorrow - $300

Must be picked up by tomorrow......uh or what? Or you'll restore it and put it back on the water?? I love when people overprice their items AND make demands about when you can buy it. "SATURDAY ONLY" as if to say he won't accept that price on Sunday morning.....and of course the ad is still there on Sunday.

The trailer tongue may have had a better use on another project?

"Boat needs an engine & outdrive. It is on a trailer, but the trailer would be better suited for a smaller boat."

Removed the motor and outdrive, probably swapped the trailer and smashed the smaller one, removed the toilet. Kinda sounds like they stripped it for parts and now they want someone to haul the junk away.

Not for $150, for a bare hull, esp w/ the hacked hole to accommodate an OB on a non-OB hull.

No evidence of an I/O thru transom hole, so ??? Inboard? Or they 'repaired' the I/O thru hole?

Then when you read the add on Sunday, the day after he demands you buy it, who would ever pick up the phone and call? I see these types of ads and just move on, if they can't fix the ad they most likely cant manage a boat or much of anything. There are signals everywhere~!!

This one hits a few different classics - No pictures of actual boat, just needs TLC, Must go this weekend (from two weeks ago), no trailer and they can't tell us anything about the boat. Sounds like a winner.

The guy is too lazy to take a couple of pictures and check the plate and/or registration. But he needs it sold RIGHT NOW. And of course the cash goes to a worthy cause so don't even think about negotiating on the price.

I'm thinking inboard, the exhaust hole repair is still visible. I like the look of the hull, its got just a hint of "flair".

I don't understand how there are so many people trying to sell boats with no title. What's the problem there? It isn't hard to get a title if you lost it. Repos even have titles.
