I like this one.

project boat

Whats really funny about this one is that I called on it (I wanted the trailer). Plus I thought it would be fun to cut a Glasser into pieces. The guy claims no one ever shows up, so I told him I could be there in 45 minutes with full price $$$$$$ I never heard back from him.

The admiral sent him a full price offer, offering to pick it up this evening, he wouldn't sell it until 8 pm. So the admiral offered to go ahead and pay him for it, and have me tow it home tomorrow. (The admiral is not taking my children to some strange person's home after dark) Then being inexperienced in towing, taking a strange trailer with a rotten boat an hour home with two kids in the car.

So I guess its no one is willing to show up and buy a boat trailer in the dark that they can't see.

If the seller ever sells, you are gonna have a good trailer, it looks like.

Even if he was going to sell it, I won't be buying it. I am going to rehab my current trailer and roll with it. Rotten Glassers and trailers are a dime a dozen, there are three others like it on c/l right now within an hour of me. I am going to pass strictly on his attitude. The admiral and I basically bent over backwards but SAFETY is first. I can rehab my trailer to be as nice as that one, but I could have swapped and not been out any money.

I may be wrong but it is about the worst looking "rebuilt ouboard unit" I have seen it looks more like an outdrive to me.

In light of the glasser dig:
Your from Tennessee*, let me clear this up for ya's: It's the part where that spinning propeller thingy goes :D

Got that 'T' ^^^ for ya's too

*Please don't send me any flaming Tn hater PM's. Some of my favorite people, places, and memories are in Tn. Thank you, that is all...

Sir, there is a stripper pole on the front of that "boat". It therefore could not possibly be the stupidest thing you've ever seen, unless perhaps you are a woman.

On the other hand; a $7000 boat, it aint.

No need to ask for pics for that $35k boat, he already said it's blue and white, that's enough!

In all my innocence, I thought it was a parasol pole; but thank you to get me back on track. :D

There is a boat just like that on the Windermere Chain of Lakes, so call it redneck if you want, but the people that live on those lakes might disagree. Shaquile Oneal, Tiger Woods, the guy that started timeshares, oh and his ex wife, etc etc etc. He pulls up to Bird Island where everyone ties off and has a DJ booth mounted on there. So whenever FWC goes by he plays "bad boys". LOL..

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

I'm a big fan of this thread and I've always wanted to contribute. Well today I had my chance. Saw this on CL just clicking through ads out of curiosity:

1984 Sea Ray-Mechanic's Special - $2000 (lake county)

$2000! I got a boat in that condition already... it was free!

The windshield doesn't line up, the driver's seat is clearly sinking on one side, and the ad even states that there are floor issues. Engine blown from overheating "some years ago", outdrive held up by a rope. Interior cracked and faded.

$2000, plus another $3000+ just to get it back to decent shape. No thanks.

"1984 Sea Ray with GM V8 and a Mercruiser Alpha 1. Open bow, seats 8. Some dry rot in the floor boards. Engine needs some work. Not running well, overheated some years ago and has been sitting for a couple years. Mechanics special. Call Ryan at 707-489-4532 or email. Boat located at Braito's Marina in Kelseyville. Won't last long!"
