Agreed it may be overpriced at $4K (I don't know the Washington DC market that well, so I can't say) but if the motor is in good shape, the boat is in good shape, the transom is solid, and the deck is solid, its definitely worth more than $400. I see he has a keel guard on it, and the front trolling motor mount. The trailer looks a bit on the rough side, but definitely serviceable.

I'm just saying. I have a 15' trihull in pretty good condition, and I wouldn't let it go for less than $2K

And one other thing. Most lakes that I run on do not permit motors that do not have underwater exhausts, so that thing would be completely useless around here.

He didn't convert it from water- to air-cooled. He just dropped an air-cooled B&S lawn tractor motor in place of the powerhead on an old outboard.

wow that is.... AWESOME!! I wonder if it has a quick disconnect assembly so he can just pop it off, mow the yard, and slap it back on the boat in the same day! I wonder if you could do the same with a Hybusa crotch rocket motor????:rolleyes: NASTY!!!

Ingenuity should not be mocked. A motor like that has a purpose. Necessity is the mother of invention.

If always in water than can foul a water pump, you can run a fan boat or make do with something else. He did the latter.

I was talking about him converting the outboard to air cooled, not the engine itself.

It was prolly tied to the tree in order to pull the trailer out from under it.
