Another boat that "needs redone."

I'm going to market a product called redone and sell it on Craig's List, since so many boats need it.

Well, the floor just needs redone. Oh, here's a can of Redone on sale for 9.95. But wait, there's more. If I order now I get a little can of TLC free. Great!

Sorry Philster, you're too late, I already saw that on QVC. Yeah they were selling the bonus 25% More free size of Redone with a free small can of TLC and if you buought two you could get a bonus jar of Elbow Grease Lightning.
But wait there's more, If you buy the 5 can special, You only pay for three and you also get two spray bottles of Get'er Done!
and if you call within the next 15 minutes you also get two bonus bottles of Honey Do This and Honey Do That.
That's a $200 value for just $29.95.

Early bird gets the worm. :p

This thread is hilarious. Love it.

But oddly, I have to say, over here in Australia it's much worse. The prices I see in a lot of the ads you are all whacking up are quite cheap.

One thing we don't have any issues over here is boat titles like you lot have to deal with. They authorities here care more about the trailers funnily enough.

You do have a proportionally higher amount of whacky gear going up on the adds though. Funny stuff.

Well not technically a TLC needed but more of a "wow holy crap overpriced"

This one is kinda bad too but at least the guy doesn't say it's a deal like the doof above and also says best offer.

http://york.craigslist.org/boa/2815017753.html He's gonna have a tough time getting that kind of money for a boat with a blown motor a completely obsolete outdrive. Nice hull though. It's the walkaround version of aspeck's boat.

Boat needs interior work, finally got it running good the last time I took it out , on the water for about 8hrs and got a bwi.(boating while intoxicated).sooooo not allowed to operate a boat for a year and its got to go. just rebuilt the carb. Great boat for striper season. Is def not perfect but all reasonable offers will be entertained. please dont waste my time if your not serious because it is not kept at my house which will create alot of back and forth driving to show. there is a title issue, I just bought the boat last year and have been running it on temp registrations, basically my name is filled in on the title and not sure if you can get away with just crossing it out and putting yours up there. If not there will just be a wait while I send the title off and wait to get it back to sign it over.may trade for car or truck. just let me know. 757xxxxxxx Bryan

Something's hinkey there, I don't recall a 100hp tiller steer, and I don't think I'd like hanging on to it.

Maybe the guy that sold it to him in the first place told him it was 100 HP. If that was 100 HP rather than 10 you wouldn't be able to hold on to the tiller anyway. You would have a hand clamped on each of the gunnels and your head down praying.

Re: Funny "TLC needed" boat ads on Craigslist.

I was in the market for a used bass boat and located one on Craigslist that had potential, but it was a 4 hour drive away, one way. I stressed to the owner on the phone that I would be making an 8 hour round trip on icy roads to get the boat and asked very specific questions about it's condition. He said that it needed seats and that there was a small pin hole in the side that the previous owner had repaired, but not sanded and painted. Other than those two things, it was perfect. An hour from home, I called him again to verify that there would be no surprises when I got there. He assured me that there would not be. Upon my arrival, the boat and motor were wrapped up in a tarp and heavily duct taped, resembling a mummy. I asked to see the "pin hole" in the side and he walked over to the driver's side, bent over, and pointed under the boat and upwards towards to the bottom. I said, "I thought the hole was in the side." He said, "It is. The bottom side." Here, I found a poorly applied piece of fiberglass five inches wide and nearly seven feet long along the bottom of this thing, with about a quart of resin hanging from it like icicles. This was his "pin hole." I was furious after the long drive and when I stood up and glared his way, he just gave me a sh*t eating grin and shrugged his shoulders, and never said a word. I was proud of myself for not landing in jail.
