OK, long overdue for an update, but I finaly got everything toghether.
I had a great offer on the 350, straight trade for a 1988 Yamaha 115, but it only has a 20" mid and keeping in mind what WeldZilla said about using a 25" mid I took the outboard anyways and decided to build the transom up with a splash well.

I didn't think of taking pics before I got to where I am now.
The transom was surprisingly all dry and very solid for an old boat (1980).
Stringers, floor, everything is dry and sound in this boat.
It is 20.5" from the bottom of the hull to the top of my new transom. I figure a full 21" once it is all done.
Two pieces of 3/4" cut out to the shape of the hole and a third that goes 4" past the "D" rings on either side and down to the bottom with just a cut out for the drain plug, all bonded together and glassed in.
The transom has two knee braces going to the stringers that also make up the bottom support for the splash well.
I'm hoping to have all the FG work done by tomorrow night...
I should be ready to get her wet by next weekend if all goes right.

It stopped raining so I should get some more done tonight after work.
It's just hard to get motivated to work on a boat after a long day of working on other peoples boats :facepalm:

It's done!
It runs, goes great!
Sorry, no pics or vids as I don't have a camera (that works...) anymore.
And it's gone, yup, I went and sold it.
