A fair bit of work being done my floor is down my edges have been filletted, it has been sanded and now fibreglassed with 1 layer of what us aussies call 400gram a meter double bias i think you guys call it stitched biaxial

Thought i would addit took 20 metersof cloth by roughly 1 meter wide so 20 square meters for 10 litres of resin

I got my left side gunnel braces removed today and sanded back what glass was there, i just need to work out if im going to reinstall gunnel braces or go bare20210114_185223.jpg20210114_185211.jpg

I made 3 gunnel braces today i think 5 would be better and more suitable but for just now i'll do the 3 on each side and possibly look to do the extra 2 later

My original gunnel braces werevery poorly constructed the braces were 2 inches short of the top inner side of the gunnel and only glassed in with chopped mat

My braces go from the floor right up to the top inner side of the gunnel and will be fibreglassed with epoxy on all sides, top and bottom

Looks good! Is the underside of your gunnel glassed with ply? Just wondering. I didn't have braces on mine.

Hey Kc yeah there is 1/4" plywood laminated into the gunnel its very strong i just thought i would add the braces for a bit more strength

Nah that's good. I was just wondering cause I have 3/4 under my gunnels. I have seen supports like yours, alot of em have holes drilled thru to hang rods in.
So it's an add on. Cool! Can't hurt that's for sure. Works looking great!
