Floor Joint

I have my aft floor section cut and fitted, and I am wondering if I should use a lap joint or something to join the next section. I'm just not sure if the epoxy and glass alone would be enough. Thoughts?

I cut a 2" wide piece of the same ply and glued/screwed it to the bottom of one section (leaving a gap at the stringers) and then glued/screwed the next section to it during installation.

I'm planning on either an angled scarf, or the oops method of cutting a tab half thickness both sides and mating them that way.

I do think many call a butt joint with glass good enough, though.
