Have a 1955 Evinrude Fastwin 15 hp and I believe the float is out of adjustment. Last time on the water it ran fine. Except it was leaking gas out of the throat of the carb. when engine was tilted up. Also seemed to flood itself after the engine was turned off. Brought it home and checked the carb. float. Made a quick adjustment and it stopped the gas from coming out the carb. throat. Took it out for a second trial run and it seem to start up much better. But at high speed we would hear a clunk and the outboard itself would seem to jump a bit. Almost like the feeling when you hit a log in the water. It repeated this same clunking sound so we decided to use the trolling motor and call it a day. Since the only thing we touched was the float we figured there must be a specific float adjustment for this outboad. Any help you could give me would be appreciated.
Thanks, Rich
