I'm not new to boats, but I am new fiberglass boats having just bought one. The boat is in pretty decent shape overall, but it does have some dock rash and was sitting outside for some time.

First off, there are some spots where the gel-coat is chipped off exposing the fiberglass underneath. What product would I use to fix this and is matching the color going to be a PITA?

Second, the entire boat is dull. Can the existing finish be polished and how would I go about that?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Fixing fiberglass hull

I was at a fibreglass repair place yesterday having him check my boat, my damage was vary small and he told me to but several coats of urethane base rust paint over the spot where the gel coat was knocked off and the fibreglass was showing, that would seal it until I get it in to him for the repairs.
