I bought a used boat that has a Lowrance X85 on the front. I want to upgrade the fishfinder with a better color unit. Does anyone know what unit I can switch to that will let me use the exising Lowrance power and transducer cables? Will any Lowrance or Eagle unit let me do that? I really don't want to run new power and transducers cables. The transducer is thru hull not trolling motor mounted.

Re: Fishfinder Question

I would call Lowrance. The problem is over time Lowrance had changed plug types many times. Older Lowrance units used 192 khz tranducers and newer units use 200 KHZ frequency. The plug types ahve changed at least 3 times. Some transducers you can get a adapter to change from and old type plug to the current style but if it is a really old unit you can no longer get the adapters.
