My tachometer (RPM guage) is stuck right above 0 won't do anything when I turn it over checked all the fuses they all look good. What else can I do without full blown replacement?

All wiring from tach back to distributor looks good. No kinks or anything in it. If your thinking replacement. Where can i get one with the black ring?20220404_170728.jpg

check voltage at tach.

if you have full voltage and the thing wont respond, switch the selectable switch around a bit (could have dirty contacts)

contact Faria as to which series that is, then google the series. there may even be a decal with the faria part number

Can I tell in acc mode if I'm getting voltage? Or do I have to power the boat all the way up.

Thanks Scott as always your help is exactly what I'm looking for in most cases.

just turn the key to the ignition side. your gauges should come on. no need to crank it over.

I'll do this tomorrow and report my findings.

When you mentioned "selectable switch" do you mean that reset button type thing?

I emailed faria and stingray as well to see which series this was.

I believe he is referring to the selector switch for different engine applications.

Looks like a Faria F33103 . . . why do we always have to do the parts lookup for people? It seems like they don't come with the black rims though . . .

Maybe try Great Lakes Skipper.

32905 Euro after about 1 hr I found it I think. Waiting on stingray or faria to confirm now.

I've had my tach repaired by Faria twice. The second time it was under warranty since it had been less then a year since the first repair. They have been easy to work with. It beats trying to find a used one to match.

thats really annoying though. I'm halfway tempted to change them all out because I have heard a lot of complaints out Faria... But we'll see what the deal is with this one first. I'll report back once I have more information.

With key on, try tapping the face of the gauge with your finger. The one in my Four Winns got "sticky" and this would "wake" it up.

Faria has a limited lifetime warranty on their parts. I'd contact them first. Also, gauges are fairly cheap and sold in sets. Don't worry about the black bezel. If servicing it doesn't work, then simply buy a new set. As a set, all the bezels, cards and fonts match.

they only have 2-3 year limited warranty on specific parts. They wont do anything with this old one. They provided proper PN# With black bezal so i dont have to change the rest of the working ones.

So in playing with the voltage meter something "popped" and now none of the guage lights work. So I'm assuming somehow I blew a Fuze I'll let you know once I start digging into that.

Tach and other gauges get their power from the key switch. Should be easy to follow the purple wires from the gauges to the problem
