This morning I attempted to lower my engine. The tilt motor sounded very weak, moved the engine slightly and gradually just stopped. does this sound like an electrical issue or does he tilt motor need to be replaced? Does the motor need to be taken off to replace the tilt motor?

thanks

Re: engine tilt problem

try switching the 2 relays in each others places if that doesnt work you will just need to release the emergency life to put motor in up position to change motor... its a flathead screw on side of transom mount. pretty easy to swap

Also, check the connection of the blue/green wires at the connector just below the relay box for corrosion and poor connection.
