engine back fire

I have a 2002 bayliner 4cyl 3.0 the engine back fire when running. Just rebuild the carburetor.

Ayuh,.... 'n My guess is, it's Still runin' Lean....

Have ya done an ignition tune up,..??

Pull the plugs - are they white and chalky? If they are, you're running lean. Check the timing again and look for fuel delivery issues.

Thanks everyone for your help, I found the problem the venturi gasket for the carburetor is leaking causing a vacuum leak replaced the gasket and now it runs fine.r
