Hello.
I have a dual engine boat with twin 377Mags MPI DTS Axius, serial 1Α605669 & 1Α605670.
The boat now has Vesselview, and analog gauges for the two engines, connected with Analog Gauge Interface, one for each engine.
I want to keep the Vesselview and change the rest of gauges with Smartcraft SC1000 Speedo-Tacho and SC100 multigauges, trim gauges etc
The boat now has the smart junction box which is merged with the two CCM's under the helm and a 6-way junction box which connects the Axius components (Compass with Gyroscope, steering actuator DTS throttle control and the Smartcraft display multi-ignition 5A.) The 6-way junction box has 2 empty plugs.
The Smart Junction box has 2 plugs for Port Smartcraft display and 2 plugs for Starboard Smartcraft display. Now, the Port Smartcraft display has 1 available plug as the other is connected to the port additional relay kit and the Starboard Smartcraft display has none, as the one plug is connected with the Starboard engine's additional relay kit and the other plug is connected to Vesselview

When i will install the smartcraft gauges (SC1000), i suppose that the Speedo can be connected to the one of two available plugs at the 6-way junction box, the sc100 gauges for each engine will be connected at vesselview's link connectors, the Port Tacho will be connected to the available plug at Port Smartcraft display (at smart junction box), but i have no available plug for the Starboard Tacho.....where shall i connect it??

Thank you very much.

Not a wiz at this stuff, just understand some of it
Replace a junction box with one with more ports (4 to 6)

Using nothing but SC stuff is ok/good but might be much easier to use a NEMA 2000 interface and then use a couple Simrad, Garmin or other displays. Can then use the CAN buss to send all info (or at least that's how I understand it

I have twin verado's and one VV, and 2 Simrad displays and can configure them for all kinds of things (sonar, motor display, chart plotter, nav, etc)

I see what you mean but unfortunately i can not put such a display to my dash......
Can i connect a 4-way junction box at the one of the Starboard smartcraft display ports of smart j-box using a female to female connector and plug there the sc1000 tacho for starboard engine? Will it work?

You have it good AD. But should your boat not have came set up like that already…and one wished to interface the engine to the simrad as an afterthought…the cost of the mercury gateway interface is simply eye watering. Scandalous even. It’s essential to have it additionally, even if there is already a full smartcraft network in place. Same goes for the Mercury rebadged simrad units too.

Hi. Can I suggest that if you are referring to the sc100 gauges, meaning the smaller gauges for like fuel and trim etc (that are nice to have but already shown on the sc1000’s)…I am happy to inform you that you don’t plug these into the junction box (if that’s what you are asking). They are plugged in, in line with the sc1000 gauge harness dedicated socket (weather capped off when not in use). You can run a couple of them in series this way. I’m sure I’ve a picture of my set up somewhere.

Attached previous is the install manual and it's my understanding that a J box can be attached where the manual shows it can. That said, if it has a 4 port and 6 port can be installed

I am asking just for the sc1000 tacho, not the sc100 small gauges . If i can have some other ports for starboard system using a new 4way j-box connected to the existing smart j-box it would be fine.
But this could work?....ex: can i connect two 4way j-boxes to have 6 available ports? I know it is simplier to change a 4-way to 6-way but this can not be done to my application as i can not change the smart j-box which had only 2 available ports and they are already used....

You can configure your set up a couple of ways, I’d say. Probably a junction box for each engine under the helm, then linked out. Sure you can do it that way. Think it shows this in a manual somewhere.

This might help. If you don’t already have it

I am aware of all these diagrams but i have not found anything concerning how smartcraft sc1000 etc is connected when the boat has axius and the smart j-box.
