This is my first boat. I paid 600.00 for it and knew going into it, that it needed a new floor. I pulled the starboard side wood up to find the stringer is also rotted. Th rot stops about 6 inches before the engine, but it appears to run all the way forward. How far do the stringers run? if it runs to the transom, I will have to seperate the top from the hull and that is where my confidence in this project ends. Any advice would be appreciated

Welcome to I-boats! A lot of times the stringers do run to the transom, but not always. Hang in there, its all about baby steps....the transom is probably shot too but....there are plenty of people on here who are happy to walk you through the rebuild process. Its not all that hard, it just takes some dedication! Lots of people here started out in your position, and have great boats to show for it!

Ayuh,... They run from 1 end to the other end,.... of the stringer....
No Doubt all the way to the transom...

Pull the motor,+ Keep Diggin'.....
