Finishing a long restroration and found a great ideal for a dash upgrade. Carbon fiber wrap that is used on cars or bikes..Works well easy to apply and relativley cheap...for marine that is...:D

Your dash looks beautiful Gunner!

I plan to do this to my very weathered molded plastic dash this summer.

From what I've read this stuff will last 6 years on an exterior application, probably longer if you keep your boat covered or garaged.

Re: Dash rebuild

Thanks, looks outstanding! I'm a long way from the dash on my restoration, but I did purchase blue carbon fiber material for when the times come. Was going to attach with an adhesive to the sheet metal and overcoat with a UV resisent clear resin. Again, great post. Still looking for some stringer advice if anyone has time for a read, thanks

Use a heat gun very sparingly and only if you have to. The key is to wet the surface with a fine light mist and work from the center out.
