Crack in Stringer

I saw this crack on the main stringer at port engine. It's at the inboard motor mount area. 8.1 motor. This not my boat but a boat we are looking at. Any concerns?

Im not an expert and take this with a grain of salt but that kind of just looks like a superficial crack in the paint or top surface. I don’t think there’s gelcoat there

If you are looking at buying it have it surveyed

That is gel that is cracked. It could be nothing, but it could be wet wood that froze and cracked the fiberglass and gel

It's also a point for water to start working it's way into the wood, if it hasn't already.

Don't fall in love with it. People do that with cars, motor cycles, boats, machine tools, etc... and it clouds judgement.
That said. Have it thoroughly surveyed.
Wet wood swells.
