Compression on 1986 johnson 8 hp?

What should I expect, or what would be exceptable compression on 1986 Johnson 8hp? Thanks much everyone...

Expect both to compress around 100psi and within 10% of each other.

Guages, technique and conditions vary so much that makers won't set specs on compression.

With a recoil start motor I usually accept anything over about 60psi, as long as both cylinders are within that magic 10%.

Your compression will probably read anywhere from 70-90 psi.
The higher the better and the readings should be within 10% of each other.
