Glen - Yup, I do believe the coldest days of winter are now behind us, so that's good! But, it does look like the month of Feb will still be in the 20's for the most part. Man, this is going to make for one long winter:blue:

Bear - Yah I dunno, certainly the bigger 18' and 21' came as CC's. Turning this into a CC is an option too, though, I think she's a little too narrow for that. We'll see

GA - I walked in and said "I'm here to buy that Mariner" he said "OK" and that was about it!

OK gents, I have it sorted!

First the bad news:

Talked to Paul, the old fella and owner of the Marine Dealership who sold me the Mariner. He says...

Jason, I can't sell you that boat. You see, the owner of that Mariner really doesn't seem to want to sell and he won't sign off on the title. He's really fond of the boat and it has a lot of sentimental value to him.

Now, right off I wanted to be grumpy and ornery with him but I just couldn't. I'm sure you fellas can understand the appreciation of the old metal boat. Am I right?

Plus, he had a solution, and that's the good news:

So he says to me....

Jason, I'll tell ya what, I know I told you more money for the Sea Nymph but I'll give it to you for what you paid for the Starcraft. Really sorry, but, does that sound fair?

Um, YES!, Yes it does Paul!!!!



So, I owned a Starcraft Mariner, for a day, and now, I own a Sea Nymph Fish N' Ski, HA!

Perhaps the end will be the same, but it looks like the SN has more 'stuff' either to recycle into another project, or sell off (notably the walk thru windshield, if you go single side console....

Is the SN's bottom already bare? :embarassed: That's good time saver right off.........

Um, I really like the white interior in both of them! :lol: Congrats bud! Your wife must be a saint ... I know what my wife would say, but then she puts up with me running out of the house at all hours of the night, my pager going off and scaring her half to death, long hours, etc. So I guess it might even out. I don't have time to take care of 1 boat properly!:facepalm:

When I heard I had a snow day I knew one of my stops would be out to see ol' Paul. As I was driving out I knew I really wanted that Sea Nymph for the extra width. But, I really didn't want to cough up the extra dough for her.

HA! That worked out pretty well in the end eh!

Yah, I love that the bottom is already to bare alum, bunch of time saved! But, by comparison to the Mariner, this one will be a way bigger project. Much bigger, lots more steps, it'll take way longer. That's fine, no sweat.

Very similar, but not quite the same. The stern/transom is different, layout is different, this one is just a smidge deeper and wider too (I think). I've got a lot more work with this one but it's all good. In the end I think I'll appreciate the size much more than the Mariner.
