Cheap Livewell?

first i would like to thank the people on my first post abou the carpet, it was a real help!

next i am also looking at live well kits on cabelas and i would end up spending like $150 for the whole thing, is there a cheaper solution, or can i possibly build my own tank and buy just a normal bilge pump? thanks!

some people use a cooler and plumb them.

A bilge pump won't work unless you throw it over the side of the boat. You need a livewell pump. As for the tank, I made one when I re-did the deck in my Starcraft by building a box under the front deck out of wood and then glassing it. Works OK, but if I were to do it again, I would use the tempress hatch and liner. In the long run it would have been worth it.

A 48 qt cooler and a livewell pump is the cheapest way and works real good if mounted on a swim platform.
