Canvas top hardened

I have a canvas top on my boat that has hardened and stiffened over the years. It looks to have been an expensive type top made in a custom top shop that is no longer in existance. There are no tears in it but I would like to put something on it to soften the material. What would any of you suggest?

I doubt you'll be able to bring her back to life. Once canvas gets to that point it's pretty much done for.
