Great glad to hear it, when you get ready to get a spray gun, that is one thing I can say HF does ok at, I have one of the small guns, it is a one pint cup and it works great for doing stain work, I did all of the cabinets in our new kitchen with it and can it was WELL worth the $20 bucks I paid for it, and I will be using it for trim work on the boat next summer..

Actually I just checked an it is a 20oz and they have it on sale this month for $14.99

That's funny. Seeing that same gun the other day was what made me think about restaining the deck.

Spray gun for deck not a good idea, especially for neighbours cars. Pump up garden sprayer works best and has minimal over-spray

my pump up garden sprayer couldn't make the stain "spray". More like a spread out squirt.

Neighbors cars are nowhere near my deck, only my pool will see any overspray.

I just want a nice even application in the nooks and crannies. The main parts of the deck are just as easy to use a roller on as to use a spray gun with a small volume requiring frequent refills.

No problems my friend. Now on to my next bit of drama (perhapse another thread who knows). I do not have a miter saw, only a cheap table saw. I have a feeling after a few poorly matched cuts I will be in the market for a miter saw. Actually I'm sure I know someone who has one to borrow.

Anyways, the whole nail gun thing is pretty trivial at this point compared to the challenge of making a perfect joint. At least I'm working with the cheap and forgiving prefinished white casing.

If you are doing the trim yourself and want picture-frame-quality mitres (or miters as you spell them...:)) get a mitre trimmer.

Mitre saws are OK for rough carpentry but if will see the work on a daily basis go with the trimmer.

Here's a good one, there are other brands of higher and lower quality available.

Well I have borrowed a mitre saw and I doubt I will be spending any more $$ on tools unless I have to.

It's funny I thought it was spelled mitre but the darn spell check fooled me. I have now used the add to dictionary feature for that word.

Sorry Scipper, I didn't mean that I thought you had made a spelling mistake (you hadn't), ....and I don't do that anyway.

I was just pointing out the "-re" vs "-er" difference n US and Canadian/British spelling, Metre/meter, centre/center....etc., I thought in a neighbourly (ooops...there's another one....:)) way. ;)

As far as I know both are used and are correct as someone added.

Sorry for the confusion, hope this clarifies what I meant. :)
