Hi I would like to build a livewell from a mold.
I'm having difficulty to figure how to attach the cover made from one mold to the fiberglass livewell made from another mold. From what i understand after the part made from the mold the tank would be painted in gelcoat. How to attach both part together without messing the gelcoat? Also how to attach the livewell to the boat?
I have linked picture where the livewell would be. I would make it in oval shape. Should i add a core to the livewell like foam or something?

Thank you

I had a 16' Sea Nymph aluminum boat and had ideas to custom make a small livewell in the center forward compartment using the hatch as the cover, until a guy came along and wanted it so I sold it. anyway, I had planned on building a box out of marine plyboard, quarter-rounding the corners with 6" to 8" PVC, and then sealing with epoxy resin.

My son just came into a 1989 Sea Nymph aluminum Fishing Machine, what year was yours? The reason I'm interested in the year of your boat is because we are trying to figure out how to add another battery compartment so we can run a 24 V trolling motor and we need to know more about what's beneath the floor.
His has a Live well in the front deck center just ahead of the NAV station. I'm not sure marine plywood would be your best choice, unless of course you decide to epoxy the entire inside surfaces.
