heres my idea going to use 1x1s and maybe plywood, or wood sheeting that goes on roof of rvs. make some windows just the hight of the front window. slight bow up then angled to back just before the engine doghouse. maybe a side door on each side to get in and out?

Gee, how abut a camper top and clear plastic from windshield to camper top, and side curtains? It will give as much protection, weigh a whole lot less and actually increase the value of the boat.

Pictures that you posted, don't help much. Do you have any sketches to share.

Maybe do an arch supported hardtop with canvas/strataglass sides.

remember, every pound of stuff you add subtracts from the boat capacity.

every pound you add up high makes the boat tippy

Wood will become to heavy, use aluminum square tubing, lighter and easier to work with, better value when finnished.

If you do build a hardtop, make sure to have adequate headroom. The picture you posted does not look like it has enough . . .

That picture is my boat. I can't even sit in the cabin without leaning my head way over. Let alone stand. It has since morphed into a pilothouse.

If I were trying to do a full cabin I'd use aluminum rail, loke Bimini materials, and just do canvas. Anything else would be too heavy for such a large cabin on such a small boat.

signs and reusable packaging such as mail bins
i would actually be buying the sheets. 4x8....... i built a trailer out of one once. and it held up pretty good. so i was thinking on this idea, but then again it could easily be broken into. maybe i should just sell it or trade it for a bayliner ciara. ? on the other hand maybe i could do something with existing cuddy ? maybe dig the floor out under bow and make it deeper? any ideas?

ok so here is the idea.... i would also add stringers across top deck underside .as i would lose the side walls, i would also block up where the yellow goes down to floor. so basically i would take out floor from yellow mark forward and make it deeper. then put in a bed style seating.

ok so i just got done some measuring. my floor sits 2 ft down from top side. all the way to front of bow. the bow is approximate 4ft deep. . and from the bow light to the dashboard is 72 inches long. . question here is this. can i take the floor out from that section ,take it down at least another ft? and still get the headroom for sitting or sleeping?

If you look at some maritime disasters you will find in the reports that.------The new owner of the ship made modifications / added cabins and made the ship top heavy.-----So be careful of you start adding bits to change a boat.

my last statement was to just remove the floor under the bow to make it deeper.....?
