He was the best President we never elected.
His Presidency was quite unremarkable except for his pardon of Nixon, which was probably a good thing in retrospect. Even though Nixon covered-up the crime, I never thought he had anything to do with it. Clinton's single indiscretion paled in comparison to Nixon's, and Nixon's single indiscretion paled in comparison to our current President's multitude. But that's fodder for another thread.
A life lost early is tragic and sad. But a life lived to it's full measure is a comfort amid the sorrow of loss.
Next time I fall down skiing, I'll be thinking of Gerry Ford (if we ever get any snow). RIP Mr. President. :'(
