Hello everyone,
Been rebuilding my bravo 3 upper after water got in and pitted some of the bearings. Luckily the gears survived it seems. Most of the bearings were easy to source, but the thrust bearing washers are confusing (parts 7 and 11)
Mercruiser says that the bearing race thickness should be stamped into the gear housing, but I see no such stamp. I measured the races and one comes in at 0.064. The other comes in at 0.067. I can get a 0.064 race, but the thickest mercruiser makes is a 0.066. Can I get away with the 66 or not? Any other manufacturer that makes this bearing race, like timken or skf?
Thanks
