Boating Trim - electrical problem

Hello,

I have a 23-year-old Bryant, in great shape. On the water this season, I noticed that my hour meter did not illuminate, and my horn did not work. Currently, it is in my garage and dry, and these components work fine. Then, in my garage, I noticed that the trim on the throttle stick started acting funny. It will trim down, but not up. Yet the trailer trim button works fine. Also, the trim controls on the stern work fine. It is only the up button on the throttle. My battery is fully charged.

Any ideas?

Could there be an issue with my boat being less grounded when on the trailer vs in the water, making these electrical issues?

What motor do you have?
If it's a Mercruiser then most likely the trim limit switch on the port side of the gimbal ring

Yes it is a mercruiser

So I need to clean out that trim switch, probably a connection problem there

The limit switch probably needs replaced or just bypass it. If it's bypassed then the trim button will bring it full up same as trailer button.

Not at my computer or I would post a wiring Pic. There is a purple/white and blue/white wires that go to limit switch. If these are connected together the switch is bypassed

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... I'd start there, both ends of both cables, 'n move down circuit from there,....
