Should there be power present with it unhooked and motor off? 12.6v?
On one of the wires yes, but I was asking if there is power at the coil or key purple wire. One of the 2 wires on the ALT other then the orange wire comes from the 50 amp breaker. The breaker has Bat voltage full time

This is how I have the circuit breaker wired right now. Not sure if the wires need to be reversed

No issue with wiring
The reason for disconnecting the ALT wires was to see if there was a problem with the ALT which was back feeding the ignition. Doesn't appear that is happening

Hey I had the wires reversed on the circuit breaker and the assist solenoid. It’s running and shutting off. Thank you

No way swapping those 2 wires would fix a no shut off issue, there was something else

all I did was move that orange wire to the other side of the fuse panel and swapped the wires on the assisted solenoid and reversed the circuit breaker wires. Shuts off now

ok, more then just swap 2 wires
A breaker is like a switch, can connect either wire on any side. Swapping wires is nothing and has no effect on anything. Moving other things you mentioned is probably what fixed the issue

I also moved the purple wire to the ignition. Thanks for the help man! Much appreciated. Finally get to enjoy this thing

Another issue. Apparently when I unhook purple wire to alternator it starts/runs/shuts off normal. However, with purple wire plugged in and all plugs in alternator it does not shut off.

Is it okay/safe to run with just that purple unplugged at alternator? Seems to be running fine otherwise
