Hi guys,
sphelps Not sure what you mean when you ask about the vent plate. If you are referring to the cavitation plate, it is at the bottom of the hull.
Patfromny Your are correct the bolt hole is at the top of the mounting plate. However, if you look at the cavitation plate it is at the bottom of the hull and you guys have told me the the cavitation plate should be at the bottom of the boat.

Bringing the motor up a hole and then angling it toward the boat with the shims will probably drop the cav. plate back to where it should be at the bottom of the hull. you might even need to lift it two holes depending on the amount of shim you will be using.
