Re: Boat Names

My Bertram came to me named "Hard Bargain", not a bad name considering I bought her last month for $5,500.00 and she just surveyed last week at near 30k market value. I changed it it "Reel Hard Bargain" now.

Re: Boat Names

My wife and I went back and forth about between a sweet fishing boat and a cottage. Where we live its a long drive to what i deem cottage country and I'd have much more fun on a nice fishing boat. Needless to say I ended up buying a boat ;) that i sold as a floating cottage that facilitates my pass time of fishing.

Pardon the pun, but she bought it hook, line and sinker.

What did we name our new floating cottage? THE COMPROMISE

Re: Boat Names

Well My boat was named "Operator Error" since I kept forgetting to open the tank vents before boating. This was on my previous boat a 73 Galaxie Open Bow Trihull with a 73 Chrysler 105HP Outboard. Current boat is not yet named its a 74 Chrysler Conqueror SIII SuperBee340 Jet that survived several owners bad treated and abandonment and once I am done will be around for my great grand kids to enjoy. Maybe we should call it "Survivor" but then I wonder if thats now trademarked.

Re: Boat Names

When I was much younger and more carefree I had a 25' speedboat V-drive, powered by a blown 396. It was correctly painted purple and black with red trim and named "Preparation-H" It was fast at emptying my wallet, that's for sure.

Re: Boat Names

I named our boat "Gale Force" after my mother Gale who passed away weeks just before we took delivery of our boat. She's always there with us in spirit!!

Re: Boat Names

I bought a 17 foot 1985 BassTracker Tourament TX last July. When Janet and I take our evening cruise around the lake a few times a week with our two dogs we realize that we are so lucky to be living on a lake in South Carolina where we can go boating or fishing anytime we want to most of the year around. Our two dogs like the boat rides as much as we do, or even more it seems. I told Janet that our boat needed a name. After kicking a few ideas around we settled on "The Ruff Life". This name seems very fitting.

Re: Boat Names

My Uncle named his boat "Pass N' Gas"

As in pass someone and then give it the gas, or..well I think you know.

I also saw a boat named "Re-lax". The X was two lacrosse sticks (Lax is slang for lacrosse if you didn't know). Being my favorite sport, I love the name and would steal it if we didn't launch 30 feet from that boat's mooring!
