It's been interesting to note the few names that never show up under any forum except "Nothing to Do With Boats". Makes you wonder why they're on this site at all.

Jack, I am probably one of those. I do not post too much under the Outboards portion. I love to read it, but will not give advice where I have no experience. I do post to the fishing section and read most of the other sections. I would assume there are others like me. I like boats, fishing, the people here and I like to learn about the things I have no experience at. This is why I visit.

Re: Betrayed by iBoats

Personally I do not post a whole lot in the other realms, as my experiance is limited. Like most other people I was first introduced to this site as a result of my searh for help. I try to offer any info I can when I know it is appropriate. I also keep looking on here to learn more, and just what if, someone mentioned something I really needed to hear. Such as a certain part or boat? Cant miss that! Its like finally throwing an odd ball thingy out and needing the exact thingy the next day. ;)
Craig

Kudos to JB for doing what I have asked him to do!!! If another exclamation point would help show my sincerity I would put it. Great job as well to Moderator1.

You know that thingy about freedom of speech? Well, iboats is not a country and I am the dictator. :) If you are offensive and mean you will get edited or deleted here. We have these boards here for fellow boaters to share their common interests and their own ideas without the fear of being personally attacked. This is for everyone, if you want full freedom to post whatever you want to say, please go to the yahoo message boards but be careful, you may just find that there are even meaner and bigger fish out there than yourself.

Moose, I don't know you dude, but I bet you're a great guy that I would enjoy fishin or boatin with. I am sorry if the way we do things here bothers you. They aint goin to change. iboats is around to help out fellow boaters and fishermen, letting people say whatever they want no matter how degrading or offensive to others does not accomplish that.

By the way, thanks everyone for sticking up for iboats not being spammers. We hate them too.

Well said, Admin5. The most efficient form of governance is a benevolent dictator. I like this site too much to have someone mess it up. Keep up the good work.

Jack, no offense taken. Just wanted to add to the conversation.

It is hard to get me worked up here. Life is too short, and I know too many people who think it's their job to get people worked up. When it gets too hot, I am the type of person that will not argue with a brick wall. The wall's job is to stand still and not move. No matter what you do, you will not change the properties of it. It is better to use your energy to go have a beer, do some fishing and enjoy life.

I know it is getting to be old hat, but thanks again Admin5 for creating a place where anyone can come, contribute and not be personally attacked. These places are rare on the web and even in real life.

Re: Betrayed by iBoats

When I first joined this site I came seeking help on my engine conflict.I stayed because of the warm welcome I recieved from JB and many others and because of my love to fish. I don't Visit other areas because of my lack of knowledge on engines.

If you had the knowlege and education you would never need a doctor and could fix yourselve and save a lot of money. Same with engines and knowlege. I spent 3200 big ones last to rebuild my conflict of which my mechanic was very pleased. Its because of myself and many other members here that makes a mechanics day.

Jacks comments were a little out of line and I voice wtih Scoop. I hope I am still welcomed here even though my engine knowledge is nil.

I visit this site often because I'm afraid of missing something. It would sadden me to think that because of my lack of knowledge I would not be welcomed here. My wife reminds to often of my lack especially when fishing season comes in.

Re: Betrayed by iBoats

Well let me see, once the water up here thaws out and the ole boat is back in the water, I'll be posting in other areas. But for now my questions for my boat is frozen just as it is.

I post to keep in touch and to see whats going on.

Those that live in the south should not take their boating season for granted. Actually I'm a little jealous because up north here we get less than a half a year to enjoy our pleasure of boating.

I promise when things thaw out, I will have plenty of questions and the need of serious help.

Thanks again iboats for a wonderful board. :D ...SS

Re: Betrayed by iBoats

Personally I stay out of the repair forums and in this one and the fishing because I know something about these areas. I know next to nothing about motor repair, boat refinishing/building, diving etc. I post about topics I know about on the boards and make use of the good info that is contained in the others that pertains to what I am trying to accomplish. The reason for all this is I try to stay where I can do some good and (except for a post here when I can't help myself) and least harm just like MOST of the regulars here. I just have to thank God for people that do hang out in the repair sections because these guys know their stuff and I am glad they are willing to share when needed.
Personally I am tired of Moose what he is doing here is the reason a lot of message boards are not worth the electrons keeping them running. I am glad that Admin5 is a dictator and a good one too because he lets us have free run of the place unless he or one of his appointees sees we are about to "run out" to use the popular phrase. I just think it is too bad hunting season is over because I would love to take a trip and get me one of those special Moose permits.
