I'm considering a '97 Bayliner Jazz for $4,500. According to BUCValu, it's worth between $5,700-$6,550. NADA, however, shows $3,120-$3,510. Which is closer to the mark? Are there better sources? Thanks.

The best is your own research into what they are selling for in your area. A lot depends on the time of year you are buying in. Now is the worst time to buy a boat as far as getting a good buy goes unless you can find a motivated seller.

placing a value on a boat is very hard, i've seen boats 20 years old, that are worth more than 5 year old boats, because of maintainance, and condition. you said you wanted a family boat. your are going to out grow that jazz in a hurry. look what new this summer.

Good advice, thanks. What's the price range of that new Bayliner?
