Probably just talking the worn teeth on the tiller..no big deal, no adjustment but new gears, and Ebay has occasional good shape tillers with gears F/S
my 58 35hp had a lot of play, where the gear, and the vertical rod that goes up to the timing linkage meet. there is a nylon insert, that breaks, it fits in the slots of the lower gear. this one is broken,
