Does anyone out there in iboat land have any pictures of a Cadillac Lido? I have a 15ft Lido that I am slowing bringing back from the dead. There has to be another out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well it does resemble all three of those a little but, I should have mentioned before, its aluminum and has some little fins on the back. I have soda blasted the hull and have spent a fair amount of attention on, what I believe to be the original 1957 Evinrude 35hp lark that was laying in it when I got it. The boat appeared to have been painted with about 5 coats of John Deere green since the 50s. Anyone have any aluminum Cadillac boats?

I found that brochure, thanks. I was hoping one of you guys had one all shined up, a goal for me to strive to reach. Man these things must be rare. I never see them anywhere. I have seen a couple of Cadillac aluminum open jonboat-style boats but none with a steering wheel. I was considering droping a 130hp jet drive out of a 1100 yamaha in it but I am afraid I would be ruining a classic. I think I will stick with a classic restoration.

Nice rig, well worth restoring. I have a friend that bought a 60s era Cadillac Riviera that is very similar, only minus the fins.

They are VERY solid and well-built. So much so that a 14' easily can handle a 40hp 2-stroke:D

I will check that post out when I get home. Unfortunately pictures are blocked at work. I got some serious stares when I took it for its float test last September. Sure some of those stares could have been because of the crop dusting effect my 57 35hp Evinrude, mixed at 25:1 with a poorly tuned carburettor, leaves trailing behind the boat at a whopping 13mph. But I like to think some of the looks were because it is a good looking boat sitting in the water. And... I am still really interested in seeing pictures of any type of Cadillac boat if anyone finds one, glass or aluminum.
Thanks,
Zac

Thanks for the encouragement. I have a carb rebuild kit coming from iboats. Going to try and get the 35hp to bring the boat up to speed. So far I replaced magnetos, points, plugs, and wires. Getting better.

I realize this is an old thread, but maybe someone is still interested. Here are some pictures of an aluminum Cadillac Riviera: 1956, I think. It will be my next restoration project after my 1958 Alumacraft Queen Merrie.
