Never had a fiberglass boat that was just the transom and motor mounts. stringers and flotation boxes at a minimum. watching the forums, most are a full gut-n-restore

being a 1988, you will most likely find lots of water logged foam going forward about 6-8 feet from the transom.

you may get lucky. most of the 80's boats that I personally rehabbed were 10-20 years ago because they rotted out within 15-20 years

Well I can tell you that the floor feels solid when I take my 195LBs and stand on my toes and bounce. No soft spots that you can feel anyway. Maybe the fiberglass is so thick you cant tell.
I can tell you I will not be rebuilding the entire boat. I cant afford to pay someone to do it and my shoulders and knees cant handle it.
Me and Julian have an agreement that if He uncovers more damage He will stop and evaluate if it is too much to proceed.

On my prev post #18, I stated Conyers was West of Atl when in fact it is East.
in case that even matters to anyone.
My Medallion 195 seems to have solid floors as well. But they are wavy so I question their structure

I hear you, heck if it was 20 years ago I could do it! If I did a project like that now I'd hate to see how many pain killers I'd haveta take and it hurts just to think of how long it would take me to recover !! I'd be limping for months lol.

I will keep y'all posted on progress if any further damage is uncovered.
Maybe I could find some teenagers in my neighborhood with flexible muscles if its too bad.

do a test drill into the stringers, about a 5/16" drill, mark off the drill with tape to only drill 1/2". drill up about 2" from the hull.

Beginning to itch just thinking about all that glass work, this just reminds me why I prefer aluminum boats ! Good luck...
