Re: Americans please.
I do not think anyone would disagree with that statement, the last Presidential Elections were a classic "experiment in government" especially in Florida.

Both George and George W. have been major supporters and beneficiaries of Enron and other now fallen mega companies which have portrayed to the world that some American corporate businesses are greedy, immoral and crooked. What does that say about the Bush family?
The many employees that worked hard and had all their life savings in Enron, I'm sure they feel the experimental government has let them down too.

The lack of morality your last President showed the world, the bare faced lies he told the people of the USA and yet he now makes millions of dollars with speaking engagements and people line up to hear him present as if he were a hero!

The United States of America is an experiment in government
I guess it's all in the "eyes of the beholder"!

If having 2 + vehicles per family, being the largest user of energy per capita, being able to sit in a two hour traffic jam in your car with the AC on makes you think your quality of life is so much better than the rest of the world, then you need to get out more and see the rest of the world.

It amazes me how many Americans don't even know where Canada is, and yet some (the so called educated) would storm our boarders if we did not all jump to attention and shout Yes Sir, anything you say Sir!

It also worries me to hear people say "you're either with us or against us" and if you don't agree with us then remind them who their neighbor is and that that long border is hard to defend

The world is a big place and even though the USA is a dominant player today, so was the Soviet Union 15 years ago. China has a billion more people than the USA, Islam is the fastest growing faith and there are more Muslims than Christians in the world.

There are over 6.3 billion people in the world and less than 0.3 billion in the USA. If the USA tries to use the strong arm tactics (which I don't believe it will) with everybody including their friends and allies, eventually one of two things is going to happen.
1. There will be WW3
2. The USA will have to pull out their arsenal of Weapons of Mass Destruction to protect it self and that will be the end of that! It will be a very lonely place waiting for that cloud of atomic dust to circle the globe to home town USA.

I just hope and pray we never see either situation.

The majority of people in the world that are exposed to current affairs agree that the recent terrorist attacks have to be stopped, that they are being instigated and executed by a handful of extremists, but I'm not sure the rest of the world will blindly follow the USA at any cost without more proof.

As for Saddam, the Coalition should have toppled him when they had the chance in 92, but now is the time to send in the Special Forces and blow the SOB away.

JB, I know you have served in the Armed Services and I respect the views of people that have fought for their country and freedom and have seen the first hand effects of war. I have no time though for those who have not, and yet are hell bent on sending the troops in even to friendly nations just because they may not agree with your countries point of view. The most successful in history, with the highest quality of life in history.
We agree that it is not perfect, but why should we not agree that "our way" is the best currently available to mankind?
