they Jetties to the Atlantic Ocean.

it was a 6 hours cruise, 30 gallons of fuel. absolutely beautiful day.
sunset, as i approached the ramp.

also on the cruise back in. i stopped to light a cigar, a pod of porpoises, surrounded the boat playing. i put the boat in gear at idle, and they followed along, surfacing on the sides, and right in front of the 2 toons. they followed me playing for about, 15 minutes. i took it as a sign that Lester was settled, and still having fun. looked to be between 30 to 50 in the pod.

could not get pics, they were too quick.

Yeah, what a shock. I didn't know SBN very well, but I saw the great contributions he made to many, many threads, including one or two of mine. My condolences to his family.

I can't think of a better way to memorialize him than to go for a boat ride. Thanks for the pics.

Re: A Tribute to and Remembrance of Lester Wright (SBN)

I just logged in to say Merry Christmas to everyone I havn't seen in a while, Aug was my last login.

I'm sad by what I have learned, I had no idea.

I'm glad we made that trip to the St. Louis gathering, or I never would have met Lester in person.

AJ, the "wormripper" had a great time and really took to Les.

Thanks for being a good friend.

Back when I was a bit more active on the forum..... There were some tornadoes in Missouri, I hadn't been online in a couple days, and my phone rang, It was Lester checking up on me.

Many a night in the old chat room, either shooting the breeze, or playing trivia, this guy always had the heart of everyone else first in his mind.

He cared so much for his family and friends.

Noel, you've been around a long time and knew Lester better than most. I'm sorry you had to find out this way.

I know this is especially hard on you.

I was never one to become 'friends' with the online crowd, but I've been around here longer than many and spent many hours back in the day reading and writing posts. Spinner was a person you easily recognized. I didn't know him personally, but this still saddens me. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I am a little late posting but wanted to share my thoughts. I came across iboats when I bought an old Johnson outboard to fix up. I was elated to find this board of experienced knowledge so willing to share what they knew to people they had never met before. Like several have said SBN posted funnies of the day. I would spend hours on the site reading and looking for these and other posts of his. It was only when I was in the middle of fixing my lower unit on that old Johnson and remaking acquaintces if you will by reading the forums again that I found this thread. I will always remember him for the insightful knowledge and not just about boats but life. He was an inspiration to all and will be sorely missed by a lot of folks.
