1. Who tows their boat with a car???... girls?

2. Your lock would only be a problem for me for about 5 seconds, just enough time for me to preheat it with the "blue tip wrench" and then hit the oxy!

3. Next time you may want to pay attention to where you park!

I think we now have a better idea of who parks where....:facepalm:

Re: A padlock can be so satisfying........

1. Most of the air breathing world.

2. you really think that it is necessary to carry a torch with you all the time?

3. The OP parked properly. Read the post before you flame him.

1. Maybe in NYC or San Francisco, but down here in the SouthEast we tow with trucks!!! (pickup or SUV)

2. I'd have to wait until I got home for the torch, if I had to do it there I'd get an aluminum drink can out of the garbage and cut some shims... it'd take a few minutes longer, but still no big deal.

3. We don't know if the OP parked properly or not since he didn't post any pics, all we know is his side of the story. I've seen people get blocked in at the launch parking lot, they're the ones that don't park in the proper spot or don't park properly... I usually laugh when I see this and sometimes I even flick a big booger on their windshield for punctuation!!!:D

Heck! He may have even been blocked in because he was towing with a car instead of a proper tow vehicle... if you have enough money to buy a boat, you have enough money to buy a proper tow vehicle first!!!

jigngrub...come on dude...was it your trailer or somethig? It's a funny story, let's just leave it at that. I'm down here in the SE too...you wouldn't know the podunk town, but you'll know Augusta GA...so that's where I am. Car, truck, vehicle...who cares what it's called, it's a tow vehicle. Quit nit-picking dude, grab another beer and kick back and relax.

The only thing funnier would be if he figured out how to padlock the trailer to the Maserati.... now THAT is a fine tow vehicle if I ever saw one!

This is typical of jigngrub's posts, he seems to have a God complex, just take what he says with a grain of salt. Plenty of people have towed with cars for many years. I see several cars towing boats in Alabama so he doesn't support his own statement.

Hey guys...lay off jignrub- there are many people that think they can feel manly, be rude, and say whatever they want on the Internet. Maybe this is the only place he can put on his big boys pants and talk big.

tx1961- that would be hilarious if he locked the trailer to the Maserati. I wish the OP would come to my lake and help me leave little "reminders" to the knuckleheads in the parking lot.

Shame on him for not having a lock on his trailer already. At least this way you kept his trailer from being stolen. I must say that would be a funny idea, but just that, a funny idea. So what happens when the guy has a bearing failure on the way home and needs to un-hitch to get his family and vehicle off the side of the hi-way. maybe I am just to much of a skeptic and think about things to much. I cant belive that people dont have the mentality or paitience to just move their trailer grumble a few words of anger and move on. I'm not saying his choice of parking spots didnt cause a problem, but come on man. Whether you added a lock or stole his wheels, its still vandalism. Well look on the bright side, if he isnt smart enough to park his trailer do you really think he is smart enough to cut or chisel a padlock off with out severly injurying himself.

I think I'll go buy a box of cheap padlocks just in case.
Won't cause too much harm, but just might teach a lesson or two:D

Re: A padlock can be so satisfying........

While I wouldn't worry too much about bearings faling or a hammered finger, etc. I would worry that I tormented the right guy. I wasn't there so maybe the OP got it right, but when you're boxed in by three vehicles/rigs, you have to know which one was the last one in, and blocked you. I'd suspect the Maseratti (a vehicle seldom seen at a launching ramp).

Now as for "the ones with money are the most inconsiderate" comment (not yours, sanders) I don't think you can make that generalization. I was on the water all Memorial Day weekend and only saw two instances of bad behavior-both were I/O bow riders. Should I draw a conclusion from that?

Okay guys, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Just got home after spending the long weekend in Dubai. Would have been back sooner, but somebody locked up the coupler on my trailer, so I had to leave the bowrider tied to the courtesy dock and take the Maserati to the airstrip. What'd I miss?

Moral to the story? Drive a brick wall to the launch & don't worry about it?

This is great. If I ever block someone in, I deserve whatever I get.
