Looks like a new one Budski and the stainless does set things off.

I would like to ask you for a little advice on the vinyl install. I'm pulling the carpet out of my Sea Nymph this evening and I am thinking I'll use the old piece of carpet as a template and cut a piece of vinyl an inch wider/longer all the way around. I'll clean all the old glue off the ply, make sure I have a smooth clean surface everywhere and dry fit the vinyl. Then I'll roll the front or one side back and put down the glue, roll that side down and do the other. I'm figuring to trim and tuck the edges all down the sides after applying a little extra headliner spray on glue along the edges. The front and rear will go up into the deck panels and I will leave the old carpet in place there. Does that sound like an appropriate plan, or is there something I'm missing or should do differently?

Sounds like a pretty good plan to me, I don't think I could suggest anything that would help, good luck.

Every thing is looking great. What's your rod storage capacity using the side lockers? Do you think there is more storage using side storage or under deck storage?

Thanks Tn, I can store about 4 rods on the passenger side and maybe 2 on the driver side, not sure which has more capacity I don't have in floor storage

Once again WOW! You all turn out a resto like you build these things in your sleep. Is your bimini top mounted to a frame that allows it to slide for and aft? Did it come with the frame ( rails mounted to the side pannels ) or is it something custom you rigged up? I want to add one to our SS, and that seems like an awesome way to make it more useable than just having it centered over the main cockpit area.

Good luck on the splash tomorrow.

Budski, does the carpet you use have a backing? I got a bunch of marine carpet free. It does not have a backing. I'm wondering if 3m 77 is the best option or if you have another recommendation. You seem to be a carpet expert!

Hey 83 yes the carpet I use has a rubberized backing. Sorry I am not familiar with marine carpeting without a backing, as far as glue goes I use an automotive and marine glue that I buy by the gallon. I roller it on both surfaces let it set a while and stick them together, works great, I;m pretty sure 3m 77 is a spray on that you use the same way but I'm not positive about that, you might want to check if there is a thread on that particular type of glue, I hope all goes well with your project.

A few years ago I picked up a roll of gray outdoor carpet from HD that someone had cut but didn't pick up. I got it cheap. Used it in our mud room and also the bow deck of my boat. That carpet didnt really have a backing. All it had was a thin layer of a glue looking substance for backing' very thin stuff.

Got the decals off the starboard side, that was the easy part, now to deal with the glue.
