I am changing my 6.2 MPI starter and noticed that the hot 12v battery lead connects to the solenoid terminals directly, with the 90 amp fuse supplying the smaller red wire that goes to the red circuit breaker on top of the engine. I can’t see this level of detail on the wiring diagrams. Shouldn’t the 90 amp fuse be protecting the large battery wire instead?
