I lost my keys for my boat so I put in a new ignition switch I think I didn't get the wiring correct it will crank but won't start it was acting like it wanted to start a couple of times but the starter wouldn't disengage so I have a yellow wire a purple wire a gray wire and 2 red wires anyone have any idea the correct terminals the grey and purple wire go to? I'm a dummie and didn't take a picture of the original wiring

Which key switch did you buy?
How many post are on the switch and what are the labels?

On the switch the terminals are labeled:
B = battery— red wire
I = ignition— purple wire
S = start— yellow/red wire
Some have a 4th terminal that is an accessory position, might be labeled A.
