My 19987 200HP Evinrude has developed excessive corrosion at the lower engine mounts of the mid-section. The mount covers (see #10 in the attached diagram - if I attached it properly) are corroded through with black rubber protruding through the corrosion holes. How serious is this? Is it dangerous to use the engine? What is the best approach for repair? Can I find parts? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Re: 87 200HP Lower Mount Corrosion

If the lower mounts swell up from corrosion the worst that can happen is the mtr will start to shift hard. Also if you try to remove the g/c for water pump repairs you'll have a hard time aligning the shift rod. Replace the mounts.
